MA Custom
One of the first MA Custom Guitars was this very understated, but gloriously detailed Pelham Blue finish model. With just a single volume and three-way switch but sporting plenty of hidden power with our classic MBK-2 pickup set-up this instrument has now found its way to New Zealand, where we're sure it's showing off its pearloid and blue lines to great effect.
Our classic MA shape has been the platform for various striking finishes that have come out of the Works workshop, but sometimes its lines are best revealed under a single solid colour and a contrasting plate, like this Pelham Blue finished variant. With a pearloid pickguard (and matching backplates) this elegant finish also seemed suited to a classic humbucker combination - the MBK-2 bridge and P-90 design MBK-1 neck combination) in this case. We felt no more than a single volume and three way toggle was necessary but opted to match up the headstock for just a little extra bling. A sweet neck P-90 delivers warm, clean tones or can be crunched up for a sweet blues/country rock tone. The bridge pickup caters for both classic rock or hard rock if required but keeps detail truly at the forefront of the tone. The MA design, as pure and simple as it gets.
