MA In Black - The Stranglers' Baz Warne On Tour

Manson MA guitars have found homes in many musical environments and Manson Guitar Works are proud to add Baz Warne amongst those using a Manson instrument as he road-tests an option loaded MA-1 as lead guitarist and vocalist of The Stranglers, who are currently touring the UK and Europe.

Trying to pigeonhole The Stranglers music is a pointless task as the band can claim true punk credibility with classic songs such as 'Peaches' and 'No More Heroes' yet swiftly expand their originality and musicianship with such albums as Black and White and The Raven. Add in some popular hits - take your pick from 'Golden Brown', 'Strange Little Girl' or 'Always The Sun' for example - or even the decidedly unusual punk concept The Gospel According To The Meninblack album (whose intro song became the enduring theme tune to celeb chef Keith Floyd's TV show) and you have a band that has created a musical tapestry that has moved with the times yet never lost its original edge. Baz Warne's guitar work was first featured on the critically acclaimed Norfolk Coast  signalling a return to the band's musical roots. Now back to a four-piece the band are touring to promote their latest release Giants.

After a trip to meet Baz with a selection of MA-1 and MA-2 instruments the guitarist finally opted for a mixture of all the features he tested selecting an MA-1 with Seymour Duncan P-Rails pickup upgrade, dual coil taps and the new tour ready aluminium scratchplate. With just hours to go before final rehearsals, tour and promo duties, Manson Guitar Works managed to finish the guitar and get it into Baz's hands where it is currently being featured on selected songs from the band's extensive set-list. Tour dates run throughout March and you can find out more information on the band's official website www.thestranglers.net
