2011 Order Updates
Manson Guitar Works has almost completed its first year of production with our first delivery of MA instruments fully shipped, first batch of Manson DL-1Matthew Bellamy Signature models released, prototype tweaked and delivered and several unique custom builds currently at the woodworking stage. Our schedule is now full until the end of the year with our second MA shipment imminent and MB-1 run three starting to gather momentum. For customers with MA orders we hope to start MA-2 pickup installs and customisations within the next few weeks, for deliveries commencing in October depending on order dates and levels of customisation. Even on our MA ranges there is intense UK production which is still all carried out by hand at the UK workshops.
For our DL-1 customers, the hand signed certificates have been completed and are on their way back to us from Matthew Bellamy and will ship in a week or so.
On our MB-1 production, the bodies are glued and await machining, MBK-2 and MBK-3 pickups are being wound although our biggest time consumer is the production of all the custom screen electronics and MIDI control units. These are still made entirely by hand by our electronics genius Ron Joyce. We could of course speed up deliveries with an offshore mass-produced product but we like the fact that Ron made the first screen designs for Hugh Manson way back and still builds them the same way today with just minor product tweaks to fine tune the design. It takes time but we're going to keep it that way! All our hardware has now landed and custom hardware is being pre-assembled for customers that have ordered this option. So whilst first MB-1 orders won't be out in October, we are hoping that final assembly (still all completed individually by Hugh Manson and Tim Stark) means we could be close to complete instruments in late November.
